Affordable Smart Technology for Home and Business

Now, more than ever, is the time to make use of all possible forms of energy.  It starts with all of us, at home, in the work place, and with a national energy policy/plan.

Energy Independence

May 5, 2011
The most important step and yet, the most difficult to follow through on, is to conserve energy.  There has been much written about what to do.  How to do "it" is not difficult.  Changing your life style is the tough part.  If you have the money, and enjoy the convenience, why not just use whatever energy you want?  ...because it just isn't right.  Future generations will need oil and the products like plastic for hundreds of years to come.

The United States of America needs a comprehensive energy plan.

1.  Our great grand children's great grand chilren will need use of oil for many purposes (plastics, etc).
2.  Economically we need to stop sending so much money to other countries.
3.  As our population increases, we will continue to need more and more energy.  We need to develop all methods of generating energy, for power generation, powering our transportation systems and our businesses, and for heating and cooling our buildings and homes.
4.  As the world population increases, their demand for energy will increase significantly.  What is our response to help them?

Simple, yes?  But not easy.  It will take a plan that engages everyone.  One that describes the journey.  A plan that transcends political parties, presidents, governors, and other people we choose to lead us.

Simple.  Not Quite!

We all have houses, cars, places to go, and preferences of travel.  We cannot just junk everything and start over.  Some would say that the government can pay for it.  Well, the government only has the money we give it.  Any increase in spending means someone has to pay more in taxes.  This means prices of everything goes up, which means we all pay more.

So what costs so much?  It is not just buying something new.  The whole system (the Infrastructure) must be upgraded.  For electric cars; New batteries must be invented.  Charging stations installed in homes, parking garages, and points along highways.  For propane or LNG powered cars and trucks; Trucks need to be upgraded.  Refueling stations added to gas and diesal stations.  Current solar technology must be improved to be more efficient and cost effective.  The "smart grid" needs to be developed and distributed.  Power lines must be upgraded to handle the increased loads of thousands of home power generators pumping electricity back into the grid.  Methods of storing excess power must be developed to support sunless and windless days.

Now is the Time.

People are excited.  Economic reasons alone will drive implementation.  Americans need good jobs, designing, manufacturing, distributing and installing affordable products and services.  T. Boone Pickens is an example of someone who is putting his money where is heart is.  Many others are taking action today.  Join them now.
